I am trying to install Rocky 8.7 on old IBM x3550 M3. The installer does not see my disk.
For comparision I tried to install lates ubuntu server (which recognizes the drive) and took an info screenshot:
Can you give any tips how to proceed from here?
Maybe I could boot from some other distro live USB and do some fdisk/gparted magic ?

Ok, after googling I learned that I need to flash another pendrive with extra drivers.
Device id [1000:0058]
suggests I need kmod-mptsas
drivers which i found here
Now with two pendrives present (os image and extra drivers) I can finally see my disks. Installation is proceeding now.

My joy didn’t last long.
I encountered a problem with non bootable drive - I let the installer finish it’s job, but the system won’t boot - obviously.
First, one does not need second USB if one has network. The 1000:0058 probably requires kmod-mptsas, so:

as @toracat did show in RAID Installation Drivers Problem - #7 by toracat
In principle the BIOS should be able to load the bootloader from the drive and the bootloader to load kernel and initramfs, and installer ought to have injected the mptsas.ko into the initramfs so that kernel can mount the filesystems from the drive.
Where that did fail? @toracat might know.
After weekend I can retry with internet connection
That looked promising - the kmod worked and thus the installer had access to the disks. I cannot figure out where things failed. Let’s see how the installation using a URL fairs.
Update on the situation: this is funny.
I restarted installer with kmod USB unplugged but with internet connection present - the installer could not see my disks.
Out of better ideas I decided to plug kmod-USB back in and reboot computer… And guess what? The system booted OK and boots up OK after each restart now ( I don’t need any pendrives sticked in)…
Not sure what happened, but I have another identical machine and will redo the installation there.
I’m now curious. What do you see with the following command?

/lib/modules/4.18.0-425.3.1.el8.x86_64/extra/mptsas/mptsas.ko
mptsas.ko.xz is in the kernel. mptsas.ko came from the kmod-mptsas package. So, this indicates that the kmod was successfully installed in the process.
