No sound for qemu guest

This is actually RH rather than Rocky, but these forums seem friendlier than many. I have an installation of RHEL9. I installed qemu. I’ve tried with a Mint and a Fedora guest. In virt-manager I added a sound card of ich9. That card works on a Mint guest in a Fedora installation of qemu. I’m not sure what I’m missing, but I can’t get a qemu guest to have sound. This isn’t that important, at least at this time, but it’d be nice to have it working. The host is a bee-link EQR6, sound on the host is fine. On the Mint guest, it seemed that pipewire installed automatically, I tried installing jackd, as well but that didn’t help.

As this has usually tended to work out of the box for me, I’m not sure what information I’m leaving out, though I’m sure I’ve neglected to mention something. Thanks for any assistance.

EDIT: I just installed qemu, libvirtd and a few other packages that were either pulled in or seemed to be necessary. I see that if I do groupinstall 'Virtualization Host that brings in 118 more packages. which I’m not going to do right now as this isn’t this machine’s main purpose. I’m not going to delete the post, but I do think that it quite possibly could be solved were I to install the entire Virtualization Host group.

Do you have qemu-kvm-audio-pa installed?

Thanks for the suggestion but yes, it is already installed.
