Taskbar is all kinds of messed up. Everything is misaligned, unpredictable, and oversensitive. I also can’t change it in edit mode because of this.
App launcher opens in the middle of the screen instead of the left.
When attempting to use a mouse, all of the submenus open directly under the cursor instead of to the side.
Also suffers from vertical misalignment. I have to use the arrow keys to navigate the shutdown menu.
Try to enter edit mode, but it just generally freaks out. If the mouse is moved ever so slightly, edit mode soft-closes, where the edit-mode top menu remains but everything else disapears, and whatever I attempted to adjust is most likely not performed, but sometimes it will do what I asked, but even then it isnt in an the way I intended it to behave.
If I remove the bottom panel, and then undo, it puts it in the middle of the screen. Very cool…
@lcas For others to be able to help you, please include the Rocky Linux version, and desktop you are running, and any other pertinent details (updated or not, etc.). It looks to me like you are running KDE plasma, but that’s just an assumption on my part.
This looks like a corrupted Plasma config rather than a real bug. The middle-screen placement and edit-mode weirdness are classic symptoms. Try resetting the panel: back up then remove ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and restart Plasma (kquitapp5 plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell). That rebuilds a default panel. You’ll lose customizations but it usually clears exactly this kind of misalignment mess.
