Safe way to upgrade from Alma Linux 8.10 to Rocky 9.5

I have Alma LInux 8.10 and I have some application on it, I want upgrade it Rocky Linux 9.5
Do I have safe and best way to do that?

To move to Rocky Linux 9.5, the only safe way is:

  • Do a backup of data
  • Wipe the system and Install Rocky 9.5
  • Restore the data

Thanks,
Steve

Bit more verbosely:

  1. Always have backups of data
  2. Know what you have
  3. Do a fresh install of Rocky 9
  4. Install the equivalent applications
  5. Deploy appropriate configuration for the system
  6. Restore the data
