Reinstall now NVIDIA problem

Hey everyone, so i tried to update to 10, but couldnt get my editing software working, so ive done a fresh install of 9… now installed everything like i did before & never had a problem… now if my screen is plugged into my NVIDIA card, i cant play videos ( if they do play sometimes they are jumpy ) & chrome only opens every 4th time you try… if i plug back into my motherboard, i dont have any problems at all…

then if i plug back into nviida… all coems back again…

does anyone have any suggestions??? could the drivers be different what what i used to have?? would a bios update of done that???

dunno where to start…

Is your desktop session xorg or wayland?

Do you remember what your session was on your previous installation?

hiya, wayland… sorry what do you mean by session?

right… so the nvivida install i used to follow causes me all problems… even though didnt cause me a problem for over a year at all.. - How to Install NVIDIA Driver and CUDA on Rocky 9.1 - #9 by yangp

now i followed a different one, all is working well again…. - Nvidia Drivers on Rocky Linux - rpm

im trying to learn… any one know the reason why that would jsut stop working..

no its not workign again now. glitching all the time..

any ideas on what would make an install i used to follow not work anymore…

@pkjack Were you using the ELRepo driver for NVIDIA? Previously we only had X11 working, but our current kmod-nvidia v580.x.x package supports Wayland. Under an X11 session, I noticed slowdowns and stutters too.

Yeah sounds about right I think…

I’ve actually had to give up and go back to windows at the moment until I can figure it out
