After upgrade to 9.4 I can’t loging in the graphic interface default… I can logging with xfce only.
The default (in graphical.target
) is that systemd starts gdm, and on successful user authentication the gdm starts Gnome with Wayland. (Gnome with X11 remains as alternative.)
The xfce is from some third-party repo.
Just to check, you get gdm fine, but of all the possible DE options only the xfce seems functional? Does it use Wayland or X11?
@jlehtone Plasma (wayland) its ok… gnome its a probme.

It looks like gnome shell is dumping core. It could be that one of the 3rd party repos has affected it in some way.
I found the problem, miniconda installation.
Thanks @gerry666uk and @jlehtone
It’s great that it’s working now.
How was it that ‘miniconda’ was affecting gnome-shell? They look somewhat separate, like they would not interact?
I followed a custom and a experimental instructions the my company that I’m work:
/etc/profile
export PATH=/opt/miniconda3/condabin:/opt/miniconda3/bin${PATH:+:${PATH}}
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/miniconda3/lib${LD_LIBRARY_PATH:+:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}}
So, I removed this.
