No HPLIP GUI for Rocky Linux 9?

Hi,

I just upgraded my workstation from Rocky Linux 8 to Rocky Linux 9. My printer is a battered HP OfficeJet. I installed hplip and I’m surprised that there is no GUI for HPLIP, as there was in recent versions of Rocky Linux (and CentOS before that) ? This is quite the regression.

Never used the hplip gui purely because I can do everything in the cups configuration - be it via the web browser, or via the Gnome/Cinnamon GUI app for printers.

Since Rocky is based on RHEL, which I’ve mentioned many times, it would probably be best complaining to Red Hat about the fact they removed it. It does exist in Fedora though.

After a bit of RTFM and experimenting, the text-based installer works fine:

You could build the GUI hplip from a Fedora source rpm with mock, but then it would probably need all the other hplip packages rebuilding too along with it.

From a user in China, I’m having this issue as well.
