Migration from RHEL 7 to Rocky 8

Hi there!

I was reading the official documentation of Rocky Linux and I noticed that the migration script in-place “RHEL to Rocky” is not availble for RHEL 7.x downwards…

From your experience, what would be the easier workflow to migrate older systems like these?

I’ve found this post for RHEL 6, but it’s not clear to me what the steps to follow would be.

Also using the elevate scripts provided by Alma Linux isn’t really a viable option for my company’s policies.

Thank you in advance for your wisdom

Well as there is no migration path, you would have to install new Rocky systems, and then configure them accordingly for the applications you want to run on them. Migrate data from the old servers that is required.
