Logitech bluetooth mouse

Hello everybody,

New user here. Very little experience with Rocky Linux, or other linux distros in general, but i can my find my way around for some stuff.

I had to use Rocky linux due to the compability of Synaptics Optodesigner and Klayout.

My main PC is a Win PC, but since i will spend sometime to Rocky Linux design Photonic Circuits, i would like to have some apps to make my life easier.

I would like to have Office 365 (i will use web version, that’s no problem), a good PDF reader (can view and edit), a mail and calendar client (Thunderbird? i use it on Windows - does it show the events in the default Rocky calendar?) and a good text editor (emacs maybe?).

Although i could use web apps for mostly everything, i have a big problem: Bluetooth lag with my logitech mouse. I looked around but didn’t find anything definitive. Is there a solution? Could you guide me into fixing the lag (or the FPS?) of the mouse?

Thank you very much,

Would help to know more details about the mouse. What Logitech model is it?

Hi, It is an Mx Master 3.

Also, is there a way to install GnuPlot or LabPlot to Rocky?

GnuPlot is in EPEL repository, so yes:

dnf install epel-release
dnf install gnuplot

you can also use https://pkgs.org to search for packages to see what is available and in what repository.

As for the mouse, someone suggests here that the USB dongle for the mouse worked better in USB2 instead of USB3: Reddit - Dive into anything

I am using a bluetooth dongle, not the unifying one. In an case i will try the USB2.0 solution…!
Thanks, i got gnuplot up and running…!

My laptop has bluetooth built into it, and never had issues with the mice I connect to it be it Microsoft, Logitech or Razer which is what I’m using now. If you are using a bluetooth USB adaptor then the problem here might not be the mouse - it could well be down to the quality of the bluetooth USB dongle. My Logitech ones if they didn’t have bluetooth I used the unifying receiver and never had any issues with them. And I always used them in the USB2 slots because it’s simply a waste of a USB3 port which I could use to attach pendrives or USB disks where performance matters for data transfer.

If the bluetooth dongle is in USB3 try it in USB2. If still problematic, try the unifying receiver instead.
