How to do the SNMPV3 configuration for sending SNMPV3 trap in Rocky Linux 9

Hi,
We have installed Rocky Linux 9 in one of the server & we required help regarding like how we can do the SNMPV3 configuration in Rocky Linux 9 for sending SNMP V3 traps and doing SNMPWALK. We tried to search on google regarding this topic but we couldn’t find anything. I hope here i will get the detail information about SNMPV3 configuration for Rocky Linux 9

Hello @kashyap123,

I do not have a direct answer to your question. However, this should work similarly to any RHEL compliant version (8,9, and probably 10). You can definitely try this and see how that works. It may not be exact, and perhaps someone else here will be able to give you some hints on version 9 specifics.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing this article with me. We are able to perform the SNMP walk but we are facing difficulties with sending SNMPV3 trap.

We are using below command for sending SNMV3 trap but at the SnMP agent we are getting error "Trap parsing failed. Notificatio does not have timeticks and trap OID as varbinds.

snmptrap -v 3 -u snmpuser -l authPriv -a SHA -A Str0ng@uth3ntic@ti0n -x AES -X Str0ngPriv@cy 100.81.143.162 -v .0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.100.81.142.1

Can you check and confirm if we are using correct command for sending SNMV3 trap.
