For those who have interest in lighter desktops for Rocky 10, when it comes out, the dwl desktop, a Wayland version of dwm, can now build v 0.7 on RHEL10. (Rocky 10 is sorta scheduled for May of 2025, last I saw. When does RockyLinux 10 release? ).
labwc and alacritty also build on RHEL10, (I built from their github sites), swaybg is in EPEL, and the Fedora 40 wmenu RPM installs without problem. So those of us who prefer lighter window managers to KDE and GNOME, should be alright. Of course, other people have their own applications that they’ll be looking for, but those two window managers, alacritty, and wmenu were the ones that I tend to use a lot.
