Xsession still falls asleep

Running: Rocky Linux-9.1

Following the steps here I thought I had sleep disabled, but after 10 minutes the machine still goes to sleep.

The machine’s configuration is slightly non-standard, in that there is not a desktop environment. On auto login, .bash_profile executes:

startx myApp

digging through some other forums, I tried adding a line to .bash_profile:

xset -dpms

This does not have any effect though. I also tried editing

/etc/systemd/login.conf

as mentioned here but that did not have any effect either. Any idea what I’m missing?

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that This mobo using Intel’s Elkhart lake and there was some issues supporting the ACPI power profiling.
