My wife and I went through the alphabet of names for our border collie but stopped at “Robbie”.

Her best mate who passed, had a Robbie border collie. As she was Scottish, the name was from Robbie Burns - the famous poet.

My connection was Robbie Fowler. Being a born scouser, I associated the name to him. But also, a TV program that brought an “England Footy Team” together put Robbie as a GOD.

Now, GOD backwards is…DOG

So Robbie it was.

Feeling slightly chuffed, we met another collie - Buddy…Buddy Collie.

His owner dropped the mic and exited the stage left pursued by a bear (Let’s Boo Boo)
