As i understand , Security updates and vulnerability fixes will be released for 8.9 until next 5 years (EOL), may 2029. Can you please confirm that? In that case, what would Active support mean which ends in May, 2024?
Also, when is 8.10 being released?

Rocky 8.10 will be released shortly after RHEL release 8.10. Since RHEL haven’t even released it, then Rocky cannot until they do. Based on the wiki article, it would suggest sometime soon though.
Released for Rocky 8 (not 8.9). Rocky 8 will effectively be 8.10 those 5 years.
