Recently, we found multiple packages were modified but the corresponding checksum was not updated. We want to confirm are these modifications expected or not?
for example perl-Carp-1.50-460.el9.noarch.rpm this package was modified in 9.4’s vault repo at 2025/11/20, however the same named package in 9.6 was never changed since 2022.
Currently due to this issue, we could not install packages(even some basic pkg like git) properly on Rocky Linux using 9.4 vault repo.

I did just browse to https://dl.rockylinux.org/vault/rocky/9.4/AppStream/x86_64/os/Packages/p/ and saw:

Either something has happened between you looking at it and me looking,
Anyway, there is no support for Rocky 9.4, so installing from vault is not expected.

You are using an unsupported release (Rocky Linux 9.4). Please consider using a supported release as noted by the wiki .
No, there shouldn’t be changes like this to the vault.
With that said, I can install git from the vault.

Thanks for your confirmation. That’s also what we as a user expected.
git was an example to demo the issue and i believe when I post the issue here, the dependency perl-Carp was modified on 2025/11. Now it makes me even more confusing, who reverted that package after I created this post? And if you search 2025-Nov on that page, you can even find more packages were modified recently(even yesterday 2025-Nov-25).
Yes, we have plans to upgrade to latest version but due to some business reason which i could not disclose here, some of our servers need to use Rocky Linux 9.4 for a while. And we are not seeking the support of that specific version. We want to know why 9.4’s vault repo was modified recently. (multiple times and seems it’s on-going).

I think someone reverted that specific package. And other more packages were not reverted and seems more modifications happened in that repo even yesterday after I posted the message here.
