Missing dependencies while updating openldap-servers on Rocky Linux 10

Hello Rockies,

I’m fighting a long time updating openldap-servers / openldap-slapi from epel due a missing dependency on openldap from @anaconda.

dnf always results in the following messages:

Problem 1: Installation des besten Update-Kandidaten nicht möglich für das Paket openldap-servers-2.6.9-1.el10_1.x86_64

  • nothing provides openldap(x86-64) = 2.6.10 needed by openldap-servers-2.6.10-1.el10_2.x86_64 from epel
Problem 2: package openldap-servers-2.6.9-1.el10_1.x86_64 from @System requires openldap-slapi(x86-64) = 2.6.9-1.el10_1, but none of the providers can be installed
  • cannot install both openldap-slapi-2.6.10-1.el10_2.x86_64 from epel and openldap-slapi-2.6.9-1.el10_1.x86_64 from @System
  • Problem mit installiertem Paket openldap-servers-2.6.9-1.el10_1.x86_64
  • Installation des besten Update-Kandidaten nicht möglich für das Paket openldap-slapi-2.6.9-1.el10_1.x86_64
  • nothing provides openldap(x86-64) = 2.6.10 needed by openldap-servers-2.6.10-1.el10_2.x86_64 from epel

It seams the openldap package hasn’t updated till now but epel provides a newer version of the openldap-servers-2.6.10-1.el10_2.x86_64.

How can we tell the RockyLinux team to please update the openldap 2.6.9-1.el10 ?

Thanks in advance

RudiS

You have to wait until Rocky 10.2 is released.

Hello Ian,

tanks a lot for this hint!

But btw: Why is epel already on 10.2 ?

So what - I’ll wait and hopefully it will be solved then.

Greats

RudiS

Because when Red Hat released RHEL 10.2, EPEL 10.2 was also released. EPEL is tied closely to RH.
