Low download speed of images

Hi folks,

right now, I’m experiencing download rates of approx. 50 KB/s and slower when trying to download an image/iso. I tested it using different images from the homepage:

wget https://dl.rockylinux.org/pub/rocky/8/images/x86_64/Rocky-8-GenericCloud-Base.latest.x86_64.qcow2
wget https://download.rockylinux.org/pub/rocky/8/isos/x86_64/Rocky-8.10-x86_64-dvd1.iso
wget https://dl.rockylinux.org/pub/rocky/10/images/x86_64/Rocky-10-GenericCloud-Base.latest.x86_64.qcow2

It’s probably not my connection because other downloads reach around 6-7 MB/s.

Are there some bandwidth problems with the infrastructure?

Regards,

I’m getting > than 12 MB/s

Some mirrors are slow on occasion. What I do is cancel the download and restart it till I am locked to a faster mirror.

Thanks for your reply. My VPN connection seems to be part of the problem. Without it, I receive approx. 1.2 MB/s but this is still less than usual. As it’s working fine on your end, it’s maybe related to my location/ISP :person_shrugging:

That’s a good idea - I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks, I’ll give that a try :+1:
