Lost a drive in my server last night. Running Rocky 8.7. I purchased this drive in 2013 so it lasted a good long time. I had a hot spare so RAID rebuilt it and I had a spare one on the shelf, to put in as new hot spare. It is a Linux software RAID 5 array, with a hot spare. Runs my website, email, does all my DNS and DHCP and my file shares! I backup all the data with RSYNC to LUKS encrypted removable drives and keep the a backup offsite in a safe deposit box. It’s all good now! Later today I am going to shut it down and upgrade the OS drive to a OSD, with Clonezilla, and put a 1TB in for my Scratch share and add another PCI SATA card to it.
