I am a Sr. IT Support Specialist. I started out life with Windows 3.11, DOS and Novel Servers, I became a CNE. I then moved on and became a MCSE for a while and migrated Novell Servers to Windows. I then did VOIP with 3Com for a while, and then moved on and became a CCNP and managed a Data Center for a Hospital. These days I work for a small Steel Processing Center in my home town, 5 minutes away from my home, and do IT support for them.

I have a number of side customers that I do managed backup and disaster recovery solutions for. I use Linux at its heart to store the images, rsync them to offsite servers and cold storage, and also do cloud backup to Backblaze.

I also specialize in going into small and medium businesses that had a “Linux” guy that setup everything and knew all about it, but then he got mad one day and left, and now nobody knows nothing about the network, and every computer guy they call sees Linux and poops backwards and runs away.

I also run a YouTube channel called FrugalPreppers Garage and Garden. On there I do a few technical videos now and then, but my channel mostly focuses on fixing and diagnosing cars and gardening.
