Kindle on Rocky 9?

Hello All,

Is it possible to mount the Kindle on Rocky 9 installed as a workstation, please?
I had no issue with the device coming from Ubuntu workstation but on Rocky it just doesn’t get recognized when I plug it in to the USB port. Calibre is also unable to detect it.

Rocky Linux release 9.0 (Blue Onyx)

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:568c Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Integrated Webcam HD
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Also when I plug it in there’s no record in the “messages” file.

Thank you!

When you plug it in, and then as root run:

dmesg

does it show any USB stuff here? This could help diagnose.

Thank you, Ian. Turns out it was a cable issue. I’ve tried a few micro USB cables and they all failed until one finally could be used to successfully mount the device.

So it’s all good now and sorry for the lame question.
