Can't post in #rockylinux channel on IRC

Hi,

I wanted to check out the #rockylinux channel on IRC. I opened XChat, connected to the Libera server and then joined #rockylinux. Unfortunately I cannot post there. The channel greeting says to get an account at chat.rockylinux.org.

So I did that, but now I wonder : what now. What do I have to do now in order to be able to post to the IRC channel ?

The greeting of the channel comes from chanserv that states you may need to register to speak there. This means you will need to register and identify with nickserv. Doing this cuts down on spam.
