Can't boot Live Rocky 8 - Dracut-initqueue timeout - starting timeout scripts message loop

I’d like to install Rocky 8, but first trying a Live DVD - I’ve burnt the Rocky 8.10 Live to a DVD. I get a long loop of Dracut-initqueue timeout - starting timeout scripts and then an emergency shell.
Looking at journalctl, shortly before the looping messages is a warning:
Can’t open InitiatorName Configuration file /etc/iscsi/initiatorname.isc.

In case it’s something with my system it is:
Motherboard ASUS A8N-VM CSM REV 1.01
Processor AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual Core 2200MHZ
Memory 4GB
DVDROM NEC ND-4570A

No hard disks connected yet. The motherboard is using the built-in VGA connector for now.

I have installed Centos 7 on a hard disk successfully but would now like to try out Rocky.

Can you boot this dvd on another machine?
You may have more success with usb stick. It just appears as if the boot.img is not finding it’s own data.

The DVD boots fine on another PC. Unfortunately I can’t use a USB stick as the motherboard doesn’t support USB boot.
