If anyone is still looking to use their old Broadcom wireless cards, ELRepo now has the following packages:
- kmod-b43 (includes b43 and b43legacy; backport of open source driver from LTS kernels)
- kmod-wl (Broadcom’s proprietary hybrid driver…see link for caveats)
First I tested a Dell DW1540 (BCM43228) with the b43 and got around 20Mbps download speeds. It wasn’t that great, so I tested it with the wl and got around 160Mbps download speeds.
