AMD ROCm Linux drivers with Rocky Linux 10

I installed RHEL10 AMD drivers to Rocky Linux 10. Seems to work. At least it didn’t render my system to unusable condition.

I got hip to work with blender 4.5.4, but not with flatpak version. Also blender 5.0 seems to work with hip. AMD boost seems to work! Cycles is very fast with ROCm. Very nice.

If interested I could go to details.

But I was not able to install Da Vinci Resolve 20 to this system of mine. If possible please let me know. zlib wasn’t able to be found. It’s an old software?

New update will come to Rocky Linux 10 soon I guess from AMD. That should certainly work. I don’t promise that RHEL 10 drivers certainly work with you. Don’t blame me if you render your system to unusable condition. :head_shaking_vertically: Have fun!

Hi,

Try zlib-ng-compat

Regards Tom.

It helped but I wasn’t able to install dependencies like pango etc. I wonder should I compile them?

Thanks for the help.

they do exist, pango and pango-devel from appstream, the rest of epel or crb.

A good question indeed. Thanks for the tip.

OK, but there are many “drivers”, can you say which exact drivers, and are they inside Rocky, or did you get them from e.g. AMD?

Just Google it.
