Rocky linux 10 installation on i5

Hello

My Rocky linux is woking well with i7,

I want to install on my second machine, i5 16 gb ram but when I tried to install it is not going ahead. after installation menu , just blinking and restarting. what to do ?

Rocky Linux 10 requires the x86_64-v3 microarchitecture, per the hardware requirements at Rocky Linux 10 (Red Quartz) – Minimum Hardware Requirements - Documentation

Some Intel Core i5 processors are v2 (Ivy Bridge) [and will NOT run Rocky Linux 10] and some are v3 (Haswell)

Can you be more specific about your i5 processor, quoting from Microsoft Copilot:

Here’s a quick way to tell:

  • i5-3xxx models (like i5-3570, i5-3470) → v2 / Ivy Bridge

  • i5-4xxx models (like i5-4670, i5-4570) → v3 / Haswell

So if you’re looking at a specific i5 CPU, the first digit after the hyphen usually tells you the generation:

  • 3 = 3rd Gen = Ivy Bridge (v2)

  • 4 = 4th Gen = Haswell (v3)
