Hello. It appears that packages to address security advisories are not available in the repositories.
For example, RLSA-2025:19835. The updated packages tab lists packages released on 11/7/2025. However Rocky Linux Repository at rockylinux.org does not have these packages available. Does anyone have an idea why?
I have no insight into the internal working of Rocky Linux, but you have to realize that it takes a minute for Rocky to catch up to RHEL since any new update has to be downloaded, compiled, tested and distributed, and all of this takes place AFTER Red Hat has released their update.
You do also realize that 11/7 was last Friday, there was a weekend right after that, and today is Tuesday.
If you need updates the second Red Hat releases one you’ll need a Red Hat subscription. Otherwise this stuff moves at the speed that it moves at.
Yup, people have lives, jobs, families, etc to deal with. We’re also not as huge in terms of numbers of people/hands to do the work as well than compare to say RH. So yeah things do take longer. Plenty of posts already on this forum when people have asked similar questions.
RH just released 9.7 and 10.1 as well, so the team are also working on that - as if there wasn’t enough to do already. I’m sure we’ll have the usual forum posts shortly as well on when will RL 9.7 and 10.1 be because it’s not immediately available like everyone seems to expect
Rocky website clearly states when packages will be released usually 24 - 48 hours after upstream, but this can take longer due to some of the stuff already mentioned above.
@gerry666uk Yes. This is something that RH has done the last couple of releases. It may be a matter of days, and possibly up to a week or more before we have release notes for the new versions.
Frank, I just asked a question, no need to get sensitive. The RLSA has a updated packages tab and that is why I asked. I was under the impression that it meant that the packages were released and so I thought there might be an issue. I did not complain or demand anything and I understand things take time. You state you have no insight into the internal workings of Rocky Linux and then go on to give an opinion. Let those who have insight into the internal workings set me straight, you cannot, since you have no insight into the internal workings.
