Hi,
I updated my kernel to 4.18.0-553.37.1.el8_10 via dnf update kernel*
, which seems to be the latest available kernel (?), but there is no precompiled driver package for this version.
According to here, there are multiple versions available for kernel 4.18.0-553.40.1.el8_10. But there seems to be a lag in kernel release. (Am I right?)
Is there any way to get around this issue? I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.
One option is to use the ELRepo’s packages for the driver. Their el8_10 module ought to work with all 4.18.0-553.x.
NVidia’s CUDA repo has both pre-compiled drivers and “dkms” version. The dkms supposedly compiles a module for kernel on need. Yes, NVidia can have occasional lag on building precompiled packages.
