Hello.
I have a system with Rocky 8.5 x86-64.
I wish to know what package provides the finger command.
“dnf provides finger”, didn’t provide me any answer.
Is the finger command deprecated or banned from Rocky?

The finger
and finger-server
were deprecated already in RHEL 7.
“Functionality removal” is listed in Considerations in adopting RHEL 8 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 | Red Hat Customer Portal
You can use pinky, instead. It’s quite similar
You can take the finger source rpm from RHEL7 and build a finger for Rocky 8 and Rocky 9
rpmbuild --rebuild finger-0.17-52.el7.src.rpm
