Dear Experts,
I am trying to recover the root password for Rocky Linux release 8.5 (Green Obsidian) VM, but when i am pressing the ctrl e, it is not going directly in grub menu rather it is asking the username… Kindly suggest how i can go directly to grub and recover my password. Thank you in advance.

At what point are you pressing ctrl-e?
It’s e on its own to enter edit mode.
