The solution – still a little confusing by crossing over to the VirtualBox forum.
Was the solution finally to disable “Device Guard” and “Credential Guard” in the Local Group Policy Editor?
I.E. do this —
- Run GPEDIT.MSC in Administrator mode.
- Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Guard
- Read all the crap about Turn On Virtualization Based Security.
- Set “Turn On Virtualization Based Security” to Disabled.
- Reboot.
In the future, Microsoft is sure to introduce some additional rotten easter eggs into the OS.
