IPv6-native or Dual-Stack?

What IP addressing scheme(s) to use is very
relevant for the build and hosting infrastructure, which is why this thread is in the Infrastructure forum.

The question of what addressing schemes Rocky Linux supports is a different question, and not the one I’m asking here.

ah . didn’t make the distinction.
Sorry to waste your time

I be happy to proved ipv4/ipv6 subnets… I can even arrange /48 route: for v6 to announce by own asn if wanted. No worries. V4 is abit more complicated but could be sorted out. I would also like to contribute with servers as in virtuals.

With services like AWS Route 53 load balancing are dedicated IP ranges even required? But I agree, dual stack is the way forward.

I vote for dual stack. It matches most the other Linuxs and what is possible to do on alot of bsds. It gives users as well as developers a choice.

About location of infrastructure.

Good idea is to host systems that store/process personal data in Eurooe because of GDPR. And prepare self-service data requests, and data-delete requests.

Everything storing and processing personalized data should be documented/flagged in some kind of CMDB.

P.S.: We should also apply for EU funding
