I ran BBS’s and loved technology as a youth. I was on VAX/VMS systems before I realized I was using a UNIX platform.
I started out with Linux on Red Hat in 1994, years before Enterprise Linux was a reality. I ran Red Hat on my desktop & laptops until moving to CentOS. I finally transitioned to Fedora well after “Fedora Core”, basically after wireless drivers became ubiquitous and stable for a couple of years. I never really fell in love with Ubuntu even for laptop/desktop systems.
Today I work as a Linux Solutions Engineer in cloud/object storage. In the past have worked as Principal Engineer and Solutions Architect for Linux & Virtualization. Certified in Red Hat, VMware and Microsoft to name a few vendors.
