Wallpaper Competition

Hi all, Hayden here.

I have a challenge(? competition? idk) for everyone. I want to see some suggestions/submissions for Rocky Linux wallpapers!

As always, official branding assets are available at Rocky Linux · GitHub

The only requirement is that the wallpaper looks okay on 4:3, 16:9 and 21:9 resolutions. Everything inbetween can be ‘hacked together’

Submit your suggestions through to me either here, on Mattermost or by email at design@rockylinux.org!

I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, just quickly a couple things:

  • I’m looking for ‘custom’ wallpapers (i.e. designed wallpapers)
  • These wallpapers aren’t necessarily going to make it into the distro! They might make it into the rocky-linux/branding repo for anyone to download, however

Hi @hbjy !

I created a couple of custom wallpapers for Rocky Linux!
Each wallpaper had two versions, one for light theme and one for dark theme!

Please find attached the link to the wallpapers here!

These are still work in progress though.
I would like community feedback in improving them!

Not really wallpaper, but I do like having the proper icon on VirtualBox.

Greetings,

This first idea is a retro/aesthetic 1980s (Fact: I was there in the 1980s, and very little looked like this back then, but it is fun). It is a proof of concept, and not a final product:

This is inspired by my cousins and his family that lived in Steamboat Springs, CO, for a few years, and the old Jeeps and SUVs that used to rule the mountains back then (also in the 1980s). The palm trees in the background ruin that a little, but the SUV has the right vibe.

These are ideas, and are not a final product, but I wanted to share a couple of concepts. Please do not judge me too harshly, and now that I have the official logo pack, I can get that right in the newer stuff.

Thank you all!
