# Samba Asking for Password with Valid Kerberos Ticket

Hi All,

I am very close - but also very close to throwing this out the windows 🙂

samba will not mount without password entry .

So klist - show a valid token or appears to.  
kinit will ask for a password,  
Samba will ask for password gio mount smb://etc = password

kinit and correct password  
gio mount works correctly.

My question - why isn’t Samba just taking the valid token from the login?  
Why do I have to kinit after logging in?
