Hi all,

We’ve seen this issue reported multiple times in the past for RH / Fedora / Ubuntu, where non-system users do not get displayed on the GDM login screen after they logged in successfully the first time:

This is the upstream issue:

> **[GDM user item not created without selecting session type (#743) · Issues ·...](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/issues/743)**
>
> Fedora 34 Workstation-installed computer is joined to Microsoft Active Directory (local Microsoft Windows Server 2016) with realmd. In /etc/gdm/custom.conf "WaylandEnable=false" is active. Problem since updated from gdm-40.0-1 to...

The bug is fixed in Fedora 40 gdm rpm, but not in Rocky 9.4 - and assumming RHEL as well.

Rebuilding the 9.4 source rpm with the upstream patch and installing it fixed the issue for us. Can anyone else confirm the issue is still present in 9.4? Is there any workaround / config change available in the absence of thie fix?

L.E. here it is the bug for RedHat: [https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-21791](https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-21791)

TIA

It seems to be fixed and coming in the next minor 9 release, end of the year …
