I would like to use two external monitors with my Dell Inspiron laptop with a retina display and a Dell dock. I tried connecting one monitor to the dock but it is not visible in RL9. I understand this would require a driver for the external dock. Do they exist at all?

Would love to hear experiences with external docks.

I have found the DisplayLink driver at github and installed it. I can now attach an external monitor to my Dell dock and see the output. What does not yet work is using xrandr to set the resolution of this monitor.

Does anyone have the github displaylink driver working and can use xrandr to set resolution?

Be careful with xrandr; as far as I know, it’s only for [X.org](http://X.org) display, not Wayland.

Is anyone using the displaylink driver from github on RL 9?

I am using the X11 server so it should work. Further googling suggests there is a bug where the scale option is not passed correctly.

Would love to hear if anyone is using a dock with at least one external monitor and successfully using the displaylink driver from github and able to use different resolutions on the internal laptop monitor and the external monitor.
