We’ve been unable to reproduce this issue. Dont think there’s any concern that things will break with a dnf update!

OK, I have finally updated it, and it rebooted without any problems. Phew!!

But, the final lines during the update were scaring me a lot:

In all it worked, but I also see an old timestamp in the initramfs files:

As you can see kernel files are newer than initramfs files.

Does that mean that I’m losing something?

Do I need to run dracut?

Just let me know.

Thanks.

You are the one that’s being rude here for treating my normal post “rude”. I don’t find any single word being rude from my posts because I was simply post what’s necessary to solve the problem.

And if you want to know please just read my previous post.

Also I’m politely asking why the kernel-rpi packages exists when they cannot be installed due to kernel-rpi-modules don’t exist.

Clearly from other peoples posts in this thread they have gotten it to work. Maybe you should try what they have done? It’s clearly been documented with steps on what to do to get it working.

TBH I agree with @codedude your tone is not very nice here, and you should change your attitude if you want people to help you.

And he replied to that with:

So instead of answering the questions he asks, all you are doing is being argumentative. If you want help, you need to provide answers to the questions asked so that people can help you. And the fact that two other people in this thread have gotten it to work shows those packages are not required and yet you continue to believe that they should be without any merit or evidence otherwise. The people who make the packages know more than you do in this instance it seems. So maybe instead of arguing be nicer and actually provide them answers to help you.

I wasn’t accusing or critisize anybody but providing evidence or at least what the commands returned, when all of a sudden somebody said I was “being rude” as if I was purely expressing emotions. I could only thought that somebody did not want to really solve problems but want me to shut up (turn out to be a faster solution?). You need to tell the one who start the argument not me not to be argumentative. I apologise for not being the nicest here. But it is due to somebody was not nice to me first.

so when
```
dnf repoquery --requires kernel-rpi-16k
kernel-16k-core-uname-r = 6.12.103-1.el10.altarch.aarch64+16k
kernel-16k-modules-core-uname-r = 6.12.103-1.el10.altarch.aarch64+16k
kernel-16k-modules-uname-r = 6.12.103-1.el10.altarch.aarch64+16k
```

was posted earlier and still somebody impatiently asked me again “what makes me think a certain package was required” and accused me of being rude, if it was you what would you think?

I apoogise again for being rude here in this reply. But I need to clarify again I wasn’t being rude.

And sorry for not being able to use a new sd card and fresh install the OS again to test something when I didn’t want to lose all my data.
