I sometime want to install a tool which is not in the default package repositories. I know there are lots of other [package repositories](https://wiki.rockylinux.org/rocky/repo/#community-approved-repositories) (like EPEL, GhettoForge, etc).

I don’t want to install and enable all of these just to search through them. How can I find out whether one of these repositories contains the executable or package in question? is there a website providing such a search?

You can try to use [https://pkgs.org/](https://pkgs.org/). It provides information for repositories for quite a few distributions and third party repositories.
