So after upgrading to 8.8 this morning doing a dnf update as root this morning, at reboot I end up on a prompt.
Waht would be the best route here, I am now booting on my previous kernel, 8.7. From here what would should I do ?
dnf reinstall kernel ?

My kernel list and uname -r are like so:
[root@render-1 bin]# rpm -q kernel
kernel-4.18.0-425.3.1.el8.x86\_64
kernel-4.18.0-425.13.1.el8\_7.x86\_64
kernel-4.18.0-477.10.1.el8\_8.x86\_64
[root@render-1 bin]# uname -r
4.18.0-425.13.1.el8\_7.x86\_64

I fixed it, my NVIDA driver need to recompile with the new kernel, all taken care off.
